SONAR #8
A social and collaborative game.
This week we celebrate the power of music collaboration by highlighting bands and duos. These artists aren’t just making music in their bedrooms - they’re part of a team, servicing their talent and extrapolating their individual skills for the greater good of co-creation. That’s another reason why we love music: for its ability to bring people together, not only as fans but also as creators.
Check out the traditional playlist here and go follow our new Instagram account. We’ve got some cool updates scheduled over the next few days so stay tuned!
1. Arkayla
A band from the latest British scene that mixes indie rock grit with soulful grooves, giving their songs an authentic and catchy vibe. They boast a solid Instagram engagement, have a great merch line and their UK tour is set to end in Manchester this Friday.
2. Lone Assembly
Lone Assembly is a quartet from Geneva blending a sheen of romantic and decadent new wave / synthpop with cold shadowplays of gloomy post-punk. They’ve gotten lots of acknowledgement from press & radio and have a few shows lined up by the end of the year.
3. Breathing Space
This duo of women artists creates immersive, dreamy soundscapes that blend ambient indie rock with introspective lyrics, giving a cinematic feel to their music. They’ve been releasing actively on TikTok, reaching fans all across the world. Big star potential.
4. The Foolz
The Foolz bring an eclectic mix of funk, rock, and psychedelic grooves, creating high-energy tracks that are both gritty and catchy. Another X Factor contestant from Italy who has been able to leverage the momentum from the show’s spotlight.
